Final plans are being made for “Caring Together…Caregiver Support,” the April 21 program featuring Barry Petersen, CBS News correspondent and author. The free program will begin at 7 pm (CST) at the Paris Center of Fine Arts on the campus of the new Paris High School. Tickets are not required.
Petersen will share his personal experience as a caregiver for his wife. His CBS Sunday Morning story about his wife, Jan, earned a national 2011 Edward R. Morrow Award. He later wrote “Jan’s Story: A Love Lost to the Long Goodbye of Alzheimer’s.”
Petersen’s book will be available for purchase the evening of the program, and Petersen will be available following his presentation to sign books.
The purpose of “Caring Together…Caregiver Support” is to provide comfort to those facing the challenges of being a caregiver or to those who may become a caregiver in the future. The program is being organized by Paris Community Hospital in cooperation with the PCH Caregiver Support Group.
