According to 24/7 News Source, Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan’s office says she’s evaluating an Illinois Supreme Court ruling. It says state workers are not entitled to back pay raises because of the lack of a state budget. Madigan’s office says further legal action is possible, but Governor Rauner says he already knows what she’s going to do. Rauner told a group of business leaders that Madigan’s part of a Democratic effort to deny workers their pay and force a government shutdown so that a tax hike can be approved.
