The union for Chicago police officers is dismissing the report of a mayoral task force that finds systemic racism in the department and a deeply flawed disciplinary process. Fraternal Order of Police president Dean Angelo calls the report biased and says it will only further damage already low police morale. Angelo also ruled out any quick changes in the way cops accused of misconduct are disciplined, saying changes would have to be part of the bargaining process for the next contract, which won’t take effect for another 14 months.
