The Illinois Department of Transportation District 7 announces that repairs to the Union Pacific Railroad Crossing on IL 33 near Beecher City in Effingham County will take place next week. Beginning on Wednesday, May 4, IL Route 33 will be closed to traffic. A one to two day closure is expected while railroad crews repair the deteriorated crossing.
The IDOT District 7 Office will assist with the detour route which will direct traffic onto County Highway 6 (Moccasin Road).
Every effort will be made to complete the project quickly and minimize inconvenience to the traveling public, property owners and commercial establishments. Please be cautious and reduce your speed while traveling near this work zone.
