Mattoon Area PADS Changes Policy About Length of Stay

Beginning Monday (5/2), Mattoon Area PADS will institute a change in their policy regarding the amount of time non-Coles County residents can stay in their facility. The three-day stay is intended for those from outside of Illinois who are in need of emergency shelter. The length of stays will be based on the last address of record for a prospective overnight guest. Prior to the new policy, guests could stay up to one month at PADS and then apply for a six-month extension if needed.
