There is a march planned to the district office of State Rep. Reggie Phillips that will take place at noon on Monday (5/16) beginning at Morton Park in Charleston. The march is being put on by EIU-UPI, Eastern Illinois University’s faculty union. The purpose of the march is to support full higher education funding. Along with the demonstration, the union chapter will be donating $250 to the Charleston Food Pantry as well as collecting non-perishable food items at Morton Park to take to the food pantry.
