Mattoon Cleanup Day

Mattoon’s annual citywide cleanup will be held on Saturday, May 21st from 8 to 11 a.m. On that day, trash bins will be available for use by Mattoon residents at the city’s yard waste facility at Shelby Avenue and Logan Street. The drop off site will be accepting all general waste except landscape waste, appliances, electronic appliances, auto parts, tires, batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, liquid wastes, concrete, brick, rock, soil, or ashes. Those dropping off waste must provide proof of Mattoon residence in the form of a driver’s licence with a Mattoon address or a stub from their water bill.
