Eastern Illinois University could face even more cuts despite receiving money from the state. EIU President David Glassman says the 12-and-a-half-million dollars the school has received from the stopgap funding bill isn’t enough to get through the summer. He says without anymore funding, the university would be forced to lay off more workers. The school has already lost over 400 employees since the state budget crisis began last year.
