Governor Rauner says he may be comfortable with a bill heading to his desk that would decriminalize the possession of small amounts of marijuana, but he stopped short of promising to sign it. He vetoed the bill once before, but lawmakers changed it to include the recommendations Rauner made. The bill would impose fines up to 200-dollars for possessing ten-grams or less of pot, but no jail time. The bill also sets a standard for how much pot can be in a person’s system before it’s illegal to drive.
