According to WCIA online, since January of 2010 for the first time unemployment has raised in all counties during the last year. Illinois is now tied with Alaska for the highest unemployment rate in the nation. Job fairs throughout the state have tried to combat this problem, but not to much progress has moved the issue further of keeping the rate low. Services like the biannual job fairs in Rantoul and Champaign try to fill jobs, but the problem seems to be that the people filling out the necessary work histories don’t have the required skills for the jobs. In the near future as a state we hope to significantly drop these rates.
