The Illinois Department of Public Health is confirming the first human case of the West Nile Virus in the state this year. Officials say an adolescent in west-central Illinois became severely ill late last month. West Nile is transmitted through a mosquito bite. Common symptoms include fever, nausea, headache and muscle aches.
