According to a Mattoon Police Department press release, Mattoon police arrested Zachary J. Dare, age 43 of Mattoon, on Wednesday June 8th at 6:22 p.m. at the MPD. Dare was charged with Aggravated Assault. The charge stems from a June 5th incident in which Dare allegedly threatened a group of people while armed with a knife and baseball bat. Dare posted bond for the offense and is scheduled to appear in Coles County Circuit Court.
