A bill on Governor Rauner’s desk would allow police to carry auto-injectors to administer to people suffering severe allergic reactions. The bill is named for 13-year-old Annie LeGere of Elmhurst, who died after having a severe allergic reaction at a sleepover a year ago. The bill got unanimous support in both houses of the General Assembly and authorizes local police and other safety personnel to carry and administer epinephrine auto-injectors after being trained.
