Governor Rauner is warning Illinois lawmakers that if a budget is not passed, road projects around the state could be suspended. Secretary of Transportation Randy Blankenhorn said yesterday that crews will have to stop working after July 1st if the state doesn’t approve a spending plan. Rauner is proposing a stopgap agreement. Illinois has more than 800 active projects at this time worth about two-billion dollars.
