Just before 3:00 this morning, Mattoon Police and the Coles County States Attorney, along with Centralia Police and their crisis response unit executed a high risk search warrant in Centralia, in an attempt to locate Shawn Adamson who is currently wanted for questioning in the Ciara Faires murder. Upon execution of the search warrant and searching the property, officers were able to locate Adamson inside the residence and were able to take him into custody without incident. He was transported back to Mattoon where he was placed into the Coles County safety detention facility and charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, felon in possession of a firearm and intimidation, pending the filing of formal charges by the Coles County States Attorney.
