The state of Illinois is ready to pony-up 45-million dollars to bring Amtrak trains to the Quad Cities. The Illinois Department of Transportation yesterday said the state would match grants from the federal government and secure the train line. But Illinois’ budget mess won’t make things easy. And no one is guessing when trains will start traveling between Chicago and the Quad Cities.
