(Springfield, IL) — The United Way says a million people have lost some kind of service because of Illinois’ budget battle. The group released numbers yesterday it says shows widespread devastation from the lack of a state budget. The survey says more than half of safety net and mental health providers have had to cut services. The United Way says the true impact might not be known for months or years.
