Do you know what accounts for nearly 12% of fireworks-related injuries each year? Sparklers. And that number is much worse for children under 5. Sparklers accounted for 61% of total estimated injuries. According to the State Fire Marshall’s office, sparklers burn at around 2,000 degrees, hot enough to melt some metals. As always, leave fireworks to the pros. They are NOT toys.
