Illinois’ largest public employee union is reportedly reaching out to its members to gauge interest in a strike. That’s according to the “Capitol Fax” blog, which shared a questionnaire supposedly being shared by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees. Contract negotiations between AFSCME and the Governor Rauner administration have been stuck after the governor’s negotiators claimed they were at a standstill. A hearing will take place in Chicago today to review a request by Rauner to have a labor board make a recommendation on the contract.
