The Illinois Department of Natural Resources has announced its proposed waterfowl season and bag limits for Canada geese, ducks and other migratory birds.
The 2016-2017 seasons in Illinois for regular duck, Canada goose and snow goose seasons will start October 15th in the north zone, October 22nd in the central zone, November 11th in the south- central zone and November 24th in the south zone. The white-fronted goose seasons will open between October 17th and November 24th.
Both the early Canada goose season and the statewide teal hunting seasons begin in September.
Daily bag limits vary depending on the species of bird.
