During Tuesday’s meeting of the Charleston City Council, the council approved a measure to allow businesses with liquor licenses to hire 16- and 17-year-olds to work in positions that do not involve serving alcohol. Previously, only those ages 18 or older were allowed to work in restaurants that serve alcohol.
