A manhunt continues in Jasper County after a man fled from police earlier this week. On Monday, an Illinois State Trooper stopped a man on Route 130 near Hidalgo. The man gave police a name that didn’t match the registry attached to the vehicle. The man then ran into a nearby cornfield. Police say he dropped a bag that contained a gun. Sheriff’s officials say a person saw the suspect this week and tried to get him to turn himself in, but he declined. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, mid to late 20s and about 5’4. He is not considered armed and dangerous. If you have any information, please call the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office at 618-783-3057.
