Several Paris High School students and a PHS graduate are volunteering their time this summer to assist Paris Community Hospital/Family Medical Center by manning an information desk at the Acklin-Shackelford Clinic.
The Acklin-Shackelford Clinic in the Family Medical Center was recently renovated and some services were relocated to the space. It is now a high traffic area that will benefit from an information desk near the entrance.
Cindy Belt, physician relations and business development manager, discussed the idea with Paris Community Hospital Foundation, Inc., Chairman T. Alan Russell and his wife, Christie, of Paris. The Russells introduced Belt to PHS Senior Breeze Keppy who thought the information desk presented an excellent community service project for high school students. Keppy then recruited students to serve as Hospital Helpers at the information desk throughout the summer.
In addition to Keppy, Hospital Helpers include Haley Fudge, Bryce Gladding and Kaylee Landsaw, sophomores; Caitlin Blair, Alexis Burton, Caitlyn Cox, Olivia Groves, Carmen Johnson, Gracie Rhoads, and Madison Thomas, juniors; and Johnny Staley, Indiana State University sophomore.
