The Lake Land College Board of Trustees approved the 2016-2017 budget last night. In addition, members accepted a $1.4 million talent search rant from the Department of Education for students with economically disadvantaged backgrounds, and gave the go-ahead for the naming of streets on campus. The roadway from Route 45 to Neal Hall will be named College Lane; the roadway from Route 45 to the softball and baseball fields will be named Athletic Avenue; Cemetery Road will be from 250 North to the Police Building; Student Center Drive will be the name of the roadway from Podesta Drive to the bookstore; Agriculture Avenue will be the roadway from the west building leading to the maintenance building; North Progress Parkway, for the roadway from Podesta Drive to the west building and the north parking lot; and South Progress Parkway for the south side of the west building.
