Heavy rains are forecasted for the next several days beginning tonight at 8 p.m. and will have a Flash Flood Watch in effect until August 16th (Tuesday). Many areas have already begun to flood like some of the campgrounds in Springfield at the Illinois State Fair, where people have lost vehicles and trailers to high flood waters. Counties in Effect are Clark, Cumberland, Effingham, and Fayette IL. Other Counties that are in Indiana also under a Flash Flood Watch include: Clay, Marion, Owen, Parke, Putnam, and Vigo. Rainfall as much as 4 to 7 inches is expected at least until Monday August 15th. These flash floods could result from low lying and poor drainage areas as well as small creaks and streams. We will keep updates as things develop.
