Public hearings are being planned for a proposal to add services to the Illinois Medicaid program. The Department of Healthcare and Family Services filed a public notice late last week to hold hearings September 8th in Springfield and September 9th in Chicago. The proposal would bring in several-billion dollars of federal funding for programs like supportive housing service for the mentally ill and homeless, transition programs for ex-convicts, a pilot program to help prevent drug addiction relapse, and more.
