Illinois is changing its stance on who can use Medicaid to access treatment for hepatitis C. The state announced a policy change on Friday that allows Illinoisans with less-advanced liver scarring to access drugs that can cure the disease. According to the “Chicago Tribune”, at least 12-thousand people in the state that are covered by Medicaid were diagnosed with hepatitis C in 2015.
