Doctors or hospitals who treat state of Illinois employees are waiting up to a year-and-a-half to get paid. A new report from the legislature’s Commission of Government Forecasting and Accountability says the backlog of medical bills in Illinois is as bad as it’s ever been. The report says Illinois’ unpaid medical debt for its employees is now growing by about 200-million dollars a month, and isn’t going to stop anytime soon.
