A year after the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, the number of Illinoisans without health insurance is hovering below the one-million mark. According to Census Bureau data, about nine-hundred-thousand state residents lack insurance, down from one-point-two-million in 2014 and one-point-three-million in 2013. Nationally, nine-point-four-percent of Americans lack health insurance, compared with seven-point-one-percent in Illinois.
