The Department of Natural Resources has received reports of more than 50 cases of epizootic hemorrhagic disease (EHD), so far this year. IDNR is asking landowners, hunters and concerned citizens to be on the lookout for dead or dying deer. EHD is a disease of white-tailed deer which can cause localized die-offs when conditions are favorable for transmission. The worst year for EHD, in Illinois, was 2012 when more than 2,000 cases in 76 counties were reported.
