The World Health Organization says drinking really hot coffee and tea raises the risk of cancer. Researchers concluded that drinking beverages above 149 degrees Fahrenheit is linked to a higher risk of cancer of the esophagus. That temperature is not as hot as a cup of coffee from most take-out places. Researchers based their conclusion on higher rates of esophageal cancer among people who drank extremely hot coffee or tea, compared to those who drank lower-temperature beverages.
