A child was hospitalized after being hit by a car in Effingham last night. Effingham Police say it happened near the intersection of South 5th and the CSX Railroad crossing. The 7-year-old reportedly ran across the street and into the path of the vehicle driven by Amber Boggs, of Effingham. No tickets have been issued and the investigation continues.
