A woman is losing her winning lottery ticket because police say her drug dealer roommate likely bought it with ill-gotten cash. The case goes back to 2014 when police in Decatur stormed Terrance Norwood’s home. They found drugs, a rifle, and a winning lottery ticket worth 50-thousand dollars. Tykisha Lofton said the ticket was hers, but police seized it as part of their drug case. A judge originally gave Lofton the ticket, saying it was a stretch to use drug laws to seize a lottery ticket. But an appeals court this week ruled the police get to keep the money.
