Two EIU football players earned Ohio Valley Conference Weekly honors. Devin Church was named the Co-Offensive Player of the Week while David Johnson was named the Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
Church scored three of the Panthers five touchdowns against Tennessee State. He had seven receptions for 37 yards with touchdown catches of two and four yards. Church added 94 yards rushing as EIU racked up 221 yards on the ground against one of the best run defenses in the OVC.
Johnson won his second OVC weekly award during only his third week of action this season as the South Carolina transfer finished with nine tackles. He had 1.5 tackles for loss, a sack and a quarterback hurry as the Panthers came from behind in the fourth quarter.
