A familiar face will take on a new role at the Charleston Carnegie Public Library. Kattie Livingston, who has been serving in a number of roles for 14 years, has been named library director.
According to Livingston, “My goal as director will be to continue to foster the needs of the community by working closely with the library board, staff and community members.”
Livingston wants to continue the momentum built under Jeanne Hamilton’s tenure by focusing more energy on the library’s 100 Big Ideas initiative program which was introduced at the beginning of this year.
According to Board President Mary Droste “Kattie has always been a great ambassador of the library and we are so happy to have her as our new director.”
A public reception for Livingston is being planned for mid-November.
