Ruby Holsapple, 99, of Toledo, Illinois passed away at 9:15 am on Saturday, October 22, 2016 in Creve Coeur, Missouri.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, October 29th 2016 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday evening at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery.
Ruby was born on February 8, 1917 in Toledo, the daughter of Oscar and Eva (Christopher) Mock. She married Luke Holsapple on December 25, 1935. He preceded her in death in 2010. Surviving are children Tommy Holsapple of Toledo, Bill (Kathy) Holsapple of Denver, CO, Steve (Jeanie) Holsapple of Charleston, IL, Linda Hollensbe of Creve Coeur, MO, Carolyn Ulrey of Jonesboro, AK and Dennis (Cynthia) Holsapple of Lansing, IL; daughter-in-law Linda Holsapple of Greenup; sisters Madge St. John of Toledo, Lois Letner of Marshall, and Jean Dial of Frankfort, IN; 14 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Gary Holsapple, brother John “Bill” Mock, son-in-laws Jim Hollensbe and Phillip Ulrey and grandson Kyle Hollensbe.
Ruby was a homemaker. She retired as a cook from Cumberland High School and was also the Matron of the Cumberland County Jail. She was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church.
