An Effingham man was injured in an accident on Route 45 in Mattoon yesterday. According to the Mattoon Police Department, Juan Vasquez was northbound just before 8:00 a.m. when he struck a vehicle driven by Emily Garriott of Charleston. Garriott was exiting I-57 south onto Route 45. Vasquez was ejected from his motorcycle. He was taken to Sarah Bush for treatment. Garriott was ticketed for failure to yield.
