Governor Rauner and his wife, Diana, are boosting the campaign of Republican state Comptroller Leslie Munger with a million-dollar donation. The gift from the Rauners’ personal funds follows a million-dollars given to Munger last month from Rauner’s campaign fund. Munger has also gotten five-million-dollars from hedge fund manager Ken Griffin and two-million from packaging company owner Dick Uihlein. Some of that money was redistributed by Munger to other GOP candidates. She’s locked in a tight re-election battle with Democrat Susana Mendoza.
