Prosecutors: Republican Election Judge Fills Out Ballot For Dead Husband
(Edwardsville, IL) — A Metro East election judge is facing voter fraud charges after she allegedly filled out an absentee ballot on behalf of her dead husband. Eighty-eight-year-old Audrey Cook, a Republican, served as a judge in Madison County but will be removed from her position. She reportedly told authorities she voted for Donald Trump for president on her husband’s absentee ballot. The “Alton Telegraph” reports Cook showed up to a polling place for early voting this weekend and requested a ballot, but only to test the system to see if she could get one.
