Judge Preserves Suit Against Hastert
(Chicago, IL) — A judge is refusing to throw out a lawsuit by a man who says he was sexually abused by former U.S. House Speaker Dennis Hastert. It’s a breach of contract suit by a man who claims that Hastert reneged on an agreement to pay him three-and-a-half-million-dollars. The money was to keep quiet about Hastert’s sexual assaults when he was a high school wrestler in the 1970s and Hastert was his coach. Hastert is serving a 15-month sentence for his attempt to disguise bank withdrawals to pay about half that money. A hearing on the lawsuit is set for January 18th.
