Trooper Accused Of Serving Up A Bribe
(Danville, IL) — A jury in Vermilion County is facing the question of whether the promise of a steak dinner constitutes a bribe on the part of a state trooper. Jurors heard a recording of 46-year-old Trooper Keith Lumsargis asking a Tilton police officer to help him get back at his ex-girlfriend by giving her a traffic ticket. Lumsargis is accused of bribery and misconduct for saying he’d buy the cop a steak dinner if he followed through. Lumsargis was arrested after the cop reported the conversation to his supervisor.
