The Lumpkin Family Foundation has named its fall 2016 grant recipients. The Illinois Environmental Council Education Fund was awarded $17,000 to promote and support local and sustainable food awareness in East Central Illinois. The Illinois Stewardship Alliance will receive $30,000 toward increasing consumption of healthy local farm products. The Lane Connection was granted $15,000 to promote the regional sustainable ag economy. Prairie Rivers Network receives $60,000 to develop a consortium connection farmers to resources advancing innovation in regional farm practices. And, the University of Illinois Extension will get $5,000 to promote local support and consumption of food produced in Christian, Jersey, Macoupin and Montgomery counties.
