Senator Mark Kirk Issues Statement Regarding Castro Death
(Chicago, IL) — U.S. Senator Mark Kirk is reacting to the death of former Cuban leader Fidel Castro. In a statement on Saturday, Kirk said Castro’s death presents an opportunity for Cuba to usher in a new era of freedom and human dignity. He called Castro a dictator and said he encouraged the Obama administration to take steps to ensure his reign of oppression ends with him. Castro died on Friday at the age of 90.
