Legislation to require state ID cards be issued to those who are released from Illinois prisons or juvenile detention centers has passed the House and Senate. Senate Bill 3368 was approved Thursday. Any previously incarcerated individual being released would need an authorized document like a birth certificate or Social Security card and two proofs of address. The ID would be temporary.
