Dale Robert Park, 85, of Findlay passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Shelby Memorial Hospital in Shelbyville. He was born on September 28, 1931, in Shelby County, the son of John and Wilma (Summers) Park. He married Norma Jones on June 30, 1956 and she passed away on November 29, 2009. Dale was a lifelong farmer, a member of the Findlay American Legion Clarence Bixler Post 409 for 62 years, Todd’s Point Road Commissioner for four years and a veteran of the United States Army. When not working the fields Dale could be found patrolling Findlay on his golf cart, collecting antique tractors or spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who he adored.
Dale is survived by his son Gary (Janon) Park of Findlay, daughter Sherry (Bob) Zakowski of Findlay, grandchildren Tonya Park Roley, Travis Park (Jill), Robbie Zakowski, and Chris Zakowski, great-grandchildren Dylan Park, Kam Roley, Devin Park, Karson Park, Megan Roley, Natalie Zakowski, brother Bill (Cindy) Park, sisters Doris (Bob) Hilliard and Jo Ellen Crawford.
Preceding Dale in death were his parents, wife Norma, daughter Penny Kay Park, brothers Dick Park and Tom Park, sister Carolyn Barrett, great-grandson Heath Roley.
Dale will take his final ride through Findlay on his golf cart to Findlay Cemetery where graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2016. Findlay American Legion will perform military honors. Memorial gathering will follow at the Findlay American Legion from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Findlay American Legion Clarence Bixler Post 409 or the Findlay Fire & Ambulance.
