Former inmates in Illinois may now have an easier time adjusting to life on the outside. Governor Rauner yesterday signed a new law giving former inmates a new state ID upon their release. Advocates say not having a valid drivers license or ID card makes it that much tougher for ex-inmates to get a job or even a place to stay.
