Illinois Receiving Federal Grants To Improve Environment
(Undated) — Illinois is receiving ten-million dollars in federal funds in an effort to improve the environment. Senator Dick Durbin announced last week that the U.S. Department of Energy awarded the state’s Geological Survey two grants. The money will fund projects to research commercial-scale geologic storage of carbon dioxide to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
