The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 7pm Friday to 1pm Saturday (EST) for Vermillion, Parke, Putnam, Hendricks, Marion Hancock, Henry, Vigo, Clay, Owen, Morgan, Johnson, Shelby, Rush, Sullivan, Greene, Monroe, Brown, Bartholomew, Decatur, Knox, Daviess, Martin, Lawrence, Jackson and Jennings.
Timing: Rain will be mixing with and changing to freezing rain Friday evening. A brief mix with sleet or snow is possible north of Interstate 70 Friday evening.
Main Impact: Freezing rain will result in hazardous travel conditions, especially on bridges, overpasses and untreated roads. Ice accumulation up to .15 inches is possible.
Other Impacts: Brief sleet or snow could also cause very sick roads.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions: A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibility. Use caution while driving.
