Governor Rauner Signs Lead Testing Law
(Chicago, IL) — Schools across Illinois have to make sure none of their water fountains or sinks have lead lines. Governor Bruce Rauner yesterday signed a new requiring schools test their water. The new mandate applies to any sink, tap, or water fountain in both schools and day cares where children could get a drink. Local school leaders say they want to make sure all kids are safe, but worry the new law will come with huge costs.
