The president of Eastern Illinois University says the school may eliminate as many as five academic majors because of declining enrollment. President David Glassman says bachelor’s degrees in Africana studies, philosophy, adult and community education and career and technical education are on the chopping block as is a master’s program in special education. The school has seen a drop in enrollment to 75-hundred students from nine-thousand a few years ago.
